All residential property owners in Toronto will be required to submit a declaration of their property’s occupancy status for the previous year. The deadline to declare a property’s 2022 occupancy status is February 2, 2023. The online declaration portal will open in mid-December 2022.

Ontario Rent Increase Guideline 2019
The Ontario Rent Increase Guideline is set at 1.8% for 2019. If you are a landlord in Ontario, you can only increase rent every 12 month period, you must provide at least 90 days notice to your tenant in writing via the N1 form.

Mandatory New Lease Template for Toronto Ontario Landlords and Tenants
It’s Monday April 30th 2018 and starting today, any new lease agreement must use the new Ontario Standard Lease template introduced and provided by the Ontario Government.
If you are a landlord in Ontario, you must start using this new lease template. If you are a tenant and about to start a new tenancy, ensure that the lease you are about to sign is the new Ontario Standard Lease template.
